CII organises buyer-seller meet on Defence Manufacturing

Aurangabad, May 28 (KNN) Providing a platform to the defence suppliers, the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) organised a Buyer Seller Meet - Defence Manufacturing in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

The meet was organised to provide an opportunity to the participants to showcase their products and services. These sessions helped to understand the opportunity for SMEs in Defence sector.

Sandeep Nagori, Chairman CII Marathwada Zonal Council, showcased the strengths of Aurangabad manufacturing sector and also he emphasized  upon how Aurangabad can cater the defence manufacturing sector with world class quality.

Milind Kank, Managing Director, Yeshashree Prescomp pvt Ltd said that Aurangabad has established itself as a major sourcing hub for most of the automotive industry in India and abroad to cater to their global requirements. The city is also well connected by all means of transport which helps to carry out the trade effectively.

“This city has become a sourcing hub for automotive sector across India and the world. In recent past, there has been rapid growth in the automotive manufacturing, region and now nominated in Smart city list by Government of Maharashtra,” he said.

K Nandakumar, Chairman & Managing Director, Chemtrols Industries Ltd emphasized on role and opportunities for MSME in defence sector, he spoke about industries’ perspective on use of offset as a route to amalgamate into global defence supply chains, in addition to self-sustenance of the Indian Armed Forces.
