CM Naveen Patnaik declares Odisha FoodPro to be an annual event

Bhubaneswar, July 22 (KNN) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced on Thursday that Odisha FoodPro will be an annual event organised by the State MSME Department.

Inaugurating the event virtually he emphasised on Odisha’s potential in the food processing sector which will boost an inclusive economic growth.

Highlighting the topographical, climatic and crop diversity of the state, he said all these factors present a unique opportunity in the food processing sector.

“The food processing sector has tremendous potential towards post-harvest crop loss, value addition and enhancing farmers' income,” he added.

CM Patnaik said that this event will provide exposure to the micro and small food processing entrepreneurs to access financing as well as newer skills and technologies. 

It has also been conceptualised not only to enable the investors to understand the investment environment in the food processing sector in the State.

Expressing happiness over the participation of the women SHGs in this event he hoped they will engage themselves more in the food processing activities and will thrive further.  (KNN Bureau)
