CMIA awarded TPA by MSDE to promote apprenticeship Scheme

Aurangabad, May 31 (KNN) Chamber of Marathwada Industries & Agriculture (CMIA) has bagged third party administrator (TPA) empanelment by the Government of India after CMIA will facilitate basic training to apprentices, through approved Basic Training Provider (BPT) and will also facilitate/assist employers and apprentices during conduct of All India Trade Tests (AIIT).

CMIA in association with GIZ- IGVET has established Marathwada Skills Hub at Aurangabad as a facilitator with a view to develop a local skilling Ecosystem in Marathwada region.

Briefing about the Marathwada Skills hub Prasad Kokil, President, CMIA, said, “The Marathwada Skills hub will act as a ‘Catalyst’ and will work as a single point contact in the Marathwada region for meeting all skill development requirements in the region.”

Marathwada Skills Hub by CMIA –Aurangabad would contribute to an empowered and holistically prosperous life of youth in-and around the region by providing state-of-the-art skill training facilities to them; so that these trained youths are able to contribute to enhanced productivity, competitiveness and growth of the SMEs in the region.

For Established ‘SKILLs- HUB’, the structure will be like hub and spoke model.

Giving more details about Marathwada Skills Hub activities, Kokil said activities here are more focused on bridging the skills gap between industry and Institute, Industry participation in upgrading the educational institutions, exposure visits to Industry, experts from Industry visiting Institutes, Training the trainers by industry experts, promotion of apprenticeship schemes.

Kokil mentioned that recently CMIA has got TPA empanelment by Government of India, CMIA will act as TPA between apprentice and employer as per the guidelines issued by the Govtof India under the Apprentices Act,1961.

The industries who engage the contract labour also can regularize them and bring them under apprenticeship scheme by giving three months basic training. CMIA can guide industries to take up basic training in the available infrastructure in the industries. The Basic training will be funded under apprenticeship promotion scheme and for each candidate trained, employer will get 7500/- rupees as a training cost, CMIA said in a release.

GIZ-IGVET project advisor Ravishankar Korgal briefed about the objectives and focus areas of project and collaboration and support of CMIA in implementing the skill development models in Marathwada Region by establishing the Marathwada Skills Hub.
