CODISSIA introduces open source platform to promote innovation in MSMEs

Coimbatore Feb 17 (KNN) Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) has launched a virtual platform to promote innovation in micro, small and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs).

This portal will help entrepreneurs to share their innovation through a virtual platform, said V. Thirugnanam, Secretary of CODISSIA to KNN.

Indian Open Technology Alliance (www.iotaplatform.org) has mentors, knowledge partners34 and industries, he added.

Lot of things and ideas can be exchanged adding that it is an open source to promote the hardware, he added.

He also said that anyone can develop drawings, new designs, and submit it on the platform and initiate discussions and it is open to everyone.

The association has tied up with incubation centres and Indian Society for Technical Education. It also has mentors to guide the industries. The association signed an agreement with Indian Society for Technical Education here recently.

He said that one new mind can be an entrepreneur by using it.

Open source hardware, also known as open hardware, is hardware built from design information that could be copyrighted or licensed. But, it is made available at no charge, according to a press release from the association. It empowers youth, helps them get hands-on experience, develops skill sets and promotes innovation. The association is looking at having a network on international experts too as part of the programme. (KNN Bureau)
