Commonwealth Secretariat floats idea of Advisory Body for SME Association
New Delhi, June 30 (KNN) The Commonwealth Secretariat, London, has invited the Commonwealth Industry Chambers to form an advisory board for its SME Association.
India’s first Commonwealth SME Association, which has been launched here today, aims to link the Indian MSME sector with the Global Value Chain in the Commonwealth countries.
With this endeavour, Commonwealth Secretariat has sought for feedback and suggestions from all the stakeholders for the role and operation of the association.
The association was launched during the two-day trade symposium organized by FISME and Commonwealth Secretariat on Linking LDCs into India’s Global Value Chain.
The symposium was jointly organized FICCI, CII, Centre for WTO Studies, GBS Africa and TPSF.
Dr Rashmi Banga, Head, Trade Competitiveness, Commonwealth Secretariat, London, invited all the partners in the symposium to be a part of Advisory Body.
She said the role of the Body would decide the constitution, operation and membership structure of the Association.
The delegates urged Dr Banga to link the association with different ministries and government departments as well. (KNN Bureau)
