Country has lost a strong politician: Noida Entrepreneurs Association

New Delhi, Aug 7 (KNN) Former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj passed away at the age of 67 on Tuesday night due to cardiac arrest. She was taken to the AIIMS hospital where a team of doctors had put efforts to save her but failed. She was brought to the AIIMS hospital around 9:35 in the night after a heart attack and passed away soon.

Condoling her sudden demise, President, Noida Entrepreneurs Association told KNN India, “It is a heavy loss in the arena of Indian politics. She was a strong lady. She stood strong all the time for the welfare of the country. There is a small section of women in society in our country who stood this strong in their work. She was a great Parliamentarian and she was known both in the country and outside the country as well”.

Sushma Swaraj was a loyal BJP worker and she was tilted towards the ideologies of the party. Before she passed, she tweeted on the subject of scrapping Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and congratulated the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi after the BJP government's move to revoke the contentious Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.

She tweeted "I was waiting to see this day in my lifetime," hours before she passed away at the AIIMS hospital in Delhi. Swaraj had started her political career with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and later on joined the BJP. She was also the Information and Broadcasting Minister in the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 1996.

She was the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha between 2009-14. In 2014, she contested election from Madhya Pradesh's Vidisha. In addition to this, she was the External Affairs Minister in the first phase of the Modi government from 2014 to 2019. This year she opted out to from the political contest due to her health issues.
