Course on how to earn & capitalize carbon credits in India

New Delhi, Sept 4 (KNN)  As a part of the Asia Climate Change Awareness Series, a one day international technical course will be held on ‘How to earn and capitalize carbon credits in India.’

Carbon credit is a permit which allows a country or organization to produce a certain amount of carbon emissions and which can be traded if the full allowance is not used.

Organised by EKI Energy Services Limited with support from I am SME of India Association; ReXchange Global Solutions UG, Germany; and EnKing International Technical Academy, Germany, the event will be held here on October-16.

According to an official release, the course is suitable for sellers of carbon credits, consultants who wish to help their clients on critical issues, buyers of carbon credits, EPC contractors who wish to secure carbon credits for potential clients and owners of projects which can earn carbon credits.

Participants will learn how and when to sell carbon credits, which standards to choose, how much revenue a project can earn from carbon credits, future of carbon markets, voluntary carbon market, how to convert CDM into the more attractive GS, how the country can benefit from carbon market, basics of statutory market programme – clean development mechanism (CDM), basics of high valued carbon market program – Gold Standard, how FY 2014-15 and FY15-16 will be the game changer of carbon markets across the globe.

There will be four technical sessions by various eminent speakers:  Climate change programs and government initiatives in India will be led by Independent Director – NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation) and Chairman - I am SME of India Association - India’s Premiere Association of and for SMEs, Rajive Chawla.

The second session titled Benefits of Gold Standard Certification and current market potential of GS-VER’s will be handled by Head of Standard Development, the Gold Standard Foundation (Switzerland), Abhishek Bansal.

Switch over from CDM, VCS, ISO 14064 projects to gold standard projects will be dealt by Managing Director, Earthood Services Private Limited –Third Party Inspection Service Provider in Climate Change, Environment and Energy, Kaviraj Singh.

The final session, How and When to Sell Carbon Credits in India will be led by CEO, EKI Energy Services Limited – only advisory company in India with Zero Rejection Rate in Global GHG Mitigation Programs and largest trader of carbon credits in India, Manish Dabkara.  (KNN/ES)
