Cow urine’s growing demand gives boost to the industry
Bulandshahr, July 21 (KNN) Urine from India's indigenous Bos indicus cows, which are considered sacred by Hindus, has picked up demand in the market owing to several reasons.
Narendra Modi has introduced various programs over the past two years to protect the milk-producing animals and support industries derived from their waste.
The government has spent Rs 5.8 billion ($87 million) on cow shelters, intensified enforcement of beef-eating bans and tightened measures to stop the illicit sale of cattle to neighbouring countries too.
Talking to KNN, Sunil Mansinghka, Chief Co-Ordinator, Go Vigyan Anusandhan Kendra, said “This industry is a traditional industry having an interesting historical background. It is gaining popularity now because of the efforts of PM.”
Cow is a mobile dispensary. It is the treasure of medicines. The cow urine therapy is capable of curing several curable and incurable diseases. The holy texts, like atharva veda, charak samhita, rajni ghuntu, vridhabhagabhatt, amritasagar, bhavprakash, sushrut samhita contain beautiful description about these things.
According to some reports, it is capable of curing diabetes, blood pressure, asthma, psoriasis, eczema, heart attack, blockage in arteries, fits, cancer, aids, piles, prostrate, arthritis, migraine, thyroid, ulcer, acidity, constipation, gynaecological problems, ear and nose problems, abortion and several other diseases.
“We have not nurtured cows only for milk, but also for cow dung and cow urine”, he continued.
“This industry has around 110 – 120 people in all. There are various activities in which people are employed like maintenance of cows, taking them for grazing, collecting the urine, feeding the cows, etc.
The most difficult task is to collect the cow urine,” the chief said. (KNN/FA)
