Bengaluru, Feb 21 (KNN) The Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) is planning to reorganise itself and reconstitute its functions to become a professional organisation.

The institute wants to develop an organisational roadmap by prioritisation of identified opportunities and formulation of a five to seven year mission statement for the institute, said a CPRI notification.

It will restructure its operations with regard to its model, manpower, process, infrastructure and technology. It will also recreate its customer management, explore strategic alliances, organisational structure, resources, systems and capabilities and work culture.

The country’s power which has been functioning as the centre for applied research in electrical power engineering house will soon be appointing a management consultant for organisational review.

With the intent of developing an institutional framework to align departments to the various goals of the institute and to monitor and review institutional performance, the consultant will study and understand the strategic plan of each department in the CPRI, major programmes and schemes undertaken, future developments, nature of work, processes and procedures being followed, hierarchy of structure, tools and technologies being used, etc.

In this regard, the institute has invited bids from experienced management consultancy firms and agencies to carry out the work.

CPRI has been serving the power sector with distinction for over five decades in the areas of applied research and development, evaluation of power equipment, field testing and customised training programmes. Its activities cover power utilities across the country and abroad. (KNN/ST)
