CSIR outfit launching PG course in patent informatics

CSIR-URDIP has been working in the field of Patinformatics (Patent Informatics) for more than a decade. Patinformatics is fast emerging as a science of analysing patent information which supports decision making in research, technology and business planning, official data said.
The diploma course in Patinformatics has been designed to train candidates in the art of patent searching, reading and analysis for the purpose of creating patent landscapes, identifying research gaps, competitive intelligence, new venture evaluation, patent portfolio management, and techno-legal studies (patentability, validity, infringement and freedom to operate.
Course modules are designed to include a blend of class room teaching and hands on training on live projects of different types.
On successful completion of the programme, candidates will be awarded their PG diplomas by the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR).
Equipped with the qualification, the professionals will find opportunities in corporate planning, business development, IP and R&D Management, law firms, consultancy companies and other knowledge processing organisations. (KNN/ES)
