New Delhi, May 15 (KNN) The Central Wool Development Board (CWDB) is in the process of organising Woollen Expo 2013-14 in different places across the country during the winter season.

The Executive Director, (CWDB) Ministry of Textiles has invited proposals from trade promotion institutions and federations which are engaged in development and marketing of wool and woollen products to organise the expo.

It will be organised in about 20 cities including Dehradun, Kanpur, Ranchi, Guwahati, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Pune and the national capital during the forthcoming winter season.

Further, the board has proposed schemes with a total financial outlay of Rs 96 crore for the 12th Five Year Plan period.

Exports of wool and wool blended products have shown a decline of four per cent in rupee terms and 18 per cent in dollar terms during April 2012 to December 2012 when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

Hence the board was constituted to improve the existing markets and develop new areas in the uses of wool. (KNN)
