D2EClub - An app to connect educational institutions, faculty, students and industry launched in Tamil Nadu

New Delhi, May 10 (KNN) An app called D4EClub (Digitally for Engineers) has been launched in Tamil Nadu by the Governor of State Banwarilal Purohit to connect engineers, students and faculty digitally.

This app has been launched with an objective to provide platform to educational institutions, the faculty, the students and the industry to interact and connect with each other, said K.E Raghunathan creator of the app to media.

The app, D4EClub gives a platform to address the issue of unemployability and ways to improve engineering education in the country.

Speaking at the launch, Banwarilal Purohit said that since technology is evolving in India, there were ample of opportunities to launch new ventures and start-ups.

Highlighting the future prospects of India, he said India has a large ecosystem of start-ups that depends on small and medium enterprises for the sustenance.

With a view to make students updated with technology and automation process as per the need of an hour, Former Odisha Governor M.M Rajendran requested colleges to update the knowledge of teachers and bring on sabbatical experts among Indian Diaspora abroad to teach the students.

Addressing the Unemployment issues, Anna University Vice-Chancellor M.K. Surappa said by enhancing the thinking capability of students the problem of unemployment could be addressed easily.

Greater interaction between the students and the industry and between the students and the faculty outside the classroom would not only motivate students but also inspire teachers, he said.

After talking about the revised curriculum and programs outside the class to give more practical knowledge to students, the Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education Anil Sahasrabudhe urged the industry to give inputs to improve engineering education every year and provide more internship opportunities as this would lead to jobs for the students.

He suggested that the app include the start-up system too to offer support, hand hold and mentor the students.

Ram Mohan Mishra, additional secretary, MSME, wanted that every institution should be an enterprise that would nurture and grow.

Speakers unanimously advocated the idea of entrepreneurship that would not only provide jobs but also help sustain the small and medium enterprises. (KNN/YV)
