DC-MSME calls for Mfg Tech Partners to upgrade and expand network of Tool Rooms & TDCs

New Delhi, Sep 29 (KNN) The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is planning to upgrade and expand the network of Tool Rooms and Technology Development Centres across India.

The Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of MSME, is in the process by upgrading existing TCs and establishing 15 New TCs at a total Project cost of INR 2,200 crores including World Bank funding of USD 200 million under the Technology Centre Systems Programme (TCSP).

The TCs are to be located in various parts of the country to cater the needs of micro, small & medium enterprises (MSMEs) through access to technology, skill development, consultancy etc.

In this context, the Ministry wants to rope in three Manufacturing Technology Partners (MTPs) for Fragrance and Flavour Sector, Footwear Sector and Glass Sector.

The MTO would identify and define globally competitive technological capabilities required by TCs, assist in their execution and provide handholding during roll out.

The partners would also support up gradation of existing TCs – FFDC Kannauj, CFTI Agra & Chennai and CDGI, Firozabad and augment services being offered by them.

Further, the MTPs will support TCs to improve the productivity and competitiveness of MSMEs in the respective sectors

Currently there are 18 operational Technology Centres. 10 are for the tooling industry and 8 are for other industries such as ESDM (electronics system design and manufacturing), glass, footwear, and fragrance and flavour and sports. (KNN Bureau)
