Chennai, Dec 16 (KNN) In the backdrop of heavy rains in the region, Government has extended the deadline for taxpayers in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry till year end to pay the instalment of Advance Tax.
 
“The last date of payment of December 2015 instalment of Advance Tax for both Corporate and Non-Corporate Taxpayers in the State of Tamil Nadu and Union territory of Puducherry has been extended from December 15, 2015 to December 31, 2015 in view of unprecedented rainfall and floods in these areas,” Ministry of Finance said in a release.
 
The order in this regard has been issued by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
 
“As a result of this extension, Advance Tax deposited in the Government account on or before December 31, 2015 will be treated as payment within the statutory time for payment of December 2015 instalment,” said the Ministry. (KNN Bureau)
