BEL expands vendor base to meet Indian defence and export market needs

New Delhi, Nov 16 (KNN) The Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) inks pact with five defence companies to meet the requirements of Indian Defence and export markets.

The MoUs were signed with Spacefaring Technologies Pvt Ltd, SVC Tech Ventures LLP, Defence PSU Hindustan Shipyard Limited, Yantra India Limited, and Profense LLC, US.

The MoU with Spacefaring Technologies Pvt Ltd will aim for co-operation in technology development in the fields of fabric-based Radome, Shelters, deployable space habitats, aerostat, etc, for Defence and non-Defence applications.

It aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and Spacefaring. It will enable both the companies to address the diverse needs of the Indian Defence forces and civilian customers for protection of personnel and critical defense assets, rapidly-deployable unpressurised and pressurised radomes, next-generation aerostat airborne long-range surveillance platform system.

Another pact with SVC TECH VENTURES LLP has been signed for co-operation in the manufacturing and marketing of Heavy Duty Blast Doors. It aims to leverage the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and SVC TECH VENTURES LLP. It will allow both sides to collaborate as partners in the design/development of new and improved Heavy Duty Blast Doors for the protection of Defence establishments and national assets.

The Mou with Defence PSU Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) signed to carry out joint development, manufacturing and product upgrades of identified products / systems and to capitalise on the emerging opportunities in the domestic Defence, non-Defence and Export markets.

The Yantra India Limited (YIL), and BEL under this agreement will team up on Ammunition Hardware and Military Grade Components .They will jointly address the requirements of Indian Defence and Export markets.

Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, Director (Other Units), who is currently holding Additional Charge of Chairman & Managing Director & Director (Marketing), BEL, and S K Yadav, Director (Operations), YIL, exchanged the MoU signed between BEL and YIL at Defexpo 2022, in the presence of Manoj Jain, Director (R&D),  G Suryanarayana Murthy, GM (BEL-Pune), and other senior officers of BEL. 

The MoU with Profense LLC, US, signed for cooperation in the manufacturing and marketing of light weapons. The MoU aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and Profense LLC. It will enable the two companies to jointly develop light weapons for market requirements, current and future.

Manoj Kumar, Executive Director, BEL, and Raaj Nair, Director, India & APAC, Profense LLC, exchanged the MoU signed between BEL and Profense LLC at Defexpo 2022, in the presence of Manoj Jain, Director (R&D), Rudhiramoorthy A, GM (BEL-Navi Mumbai), and other senior officers of BEL.  (KNN Bureau)
