SIDM opens application for two-day Defence Acquisition Management Course on March 1-2

New Delhi, Jan 9 (KNN) Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) has invited industry representatives to enrol in its Defence Acquisition Management Course (DAMC) which will be conducted on March 1-2, 2023.

The aim is to familiarise the industry on several aspects of the acquisition processes of Defence sector and enable their participation in the sector.

Since 2003, more than 1500 representatives from the industry have been benefitted from this course since its inception.

Covering two modules, the first day will focus on Acquisition Organisation of MOD and Services; Structure of DAP, Planning Processes, Categories of Acquisition, Definitions: Indigenous Content & Indian Vendor; Acquisition Procedure for “Buy” and “Buy and Make” Categories and Defence Offset and Guidelines.

It will also give insights on other Defence Sector Policies & Procedures which will include Defence Industrial License (Defence Platforms and Equipment, Small Arms and Ammunitions).

The second module will cover Acquisition Procedure for “Buy” and “Buy and Make” Categories (Eligibility Criteria, Salient Commercial Features, Standard Contract Clauses); Acquisition Procedure for “Make” and “Innovation” Categories, Make-II Procedure and Schemes of Indian Armed Forces and Technology Development Fund.

The course will be conducted by Rear Admiral Pritam Lal (Retd.), a well-known domain expert, who has been conducting this course since 2016.

Other faculty members would include recognized experts and serving officials from the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, Service Headquarters, DRDO and Defence Establishments.

Limited seats are available. Admission to this course will be given on first come first serve basis.
