New Delhi, Feb 12 (KNN) Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL) has marked a significant manufacturing milestone with the delivery of its 300th fuselage for the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter from its advanced manufacturing facility.
The achievement underscores the company's growing role in global aerospace manufacturing, as these fuselages are supplied to various military customers worldwide, including the United States Army and Indian Armed Forces.
The accomplishment holds particular significance for India's defense capabilities, as the Indian Air Force currently operates a fleet of 22 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters.
This production milestone demonstrates TBAL's ongoing commitment to strengthening India's indigenous defense manufacturing capabilities while contributing to the nation's aerospace industry development.
The state-of-the-art manufacturing operation, established as a joint venture between Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), has created a substantial workforce of over 900 engineers and technicians.
The facility incorporates advanced manufacturing technologies, including robotics and automation systems, alongside cutting-edge aerospace manufacturing processes to ensure precision and quality in production.
Operating from a 14,000-square-meter facility, TBAL has established itself as the exclusive global supplier of Apache fuselages.
The company has successfully developed a robust local supply chain, with more than 90 percent of the Apache aerostructure components manufactured within India.
This achievement has been made possible through partnerships with over 100 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) suppliers, exemplifying the success of India's domestic aerospace manufacturing ecosystem.
