DefExpo 2022 to help boost investments in defence sector

Gandhinagar, Aug 9 (KNN) The 12th edition of India’s flagship defence exhibition on Land, Naval and Homeland Security systems- DefExpo 2022, will be held in Gandhinagar from October 18 – 22.

The primary aim of the exhibition is to serve as a platform for forging partnerships between companies, showcasing start-ups and MSMEs, including cutting-edge technology solutions for future battlefields such as Artificial Intelligence in defence. The show will concurrently host seminars and workshops.   

As DefExpo 2022 is being held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat government is also marketing the State as an investment destination for the aerospace and defence sector.

The theme of the five–day event is ‘Path to Pride’ invoking nationalistic pride and encouraging citizens to partake in nation-building through establishing a capable indigenous Defence industry.

As per reports, the five-day event will witness three business days followed by two public days. Live demonstrations showcasing the equipment and skill set of the Armed Forces, DPSUs and Industry will be held on all five days at Sabarmati River Front through active participation and synchronized efforts at all levels.

This expo is another important step in achieving the country’s vision of achieving self-reliance in defence and achieving export of USD 5 billion by 2025.

“The DefExpo 2022 will be held in a three-venue format across an area exceeding one lakh square metres at Helipad Exhibition Centre. The inaugural event and seminars will be held at Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre and Live demo at Sabarmati River Front according to the reports from the Ministry of Defence.

At DefExpo-2022, the participants will get an opportunity to showcase their equipment and platforms and also be able to explore the strengths and capabilities of the expanse of the Indian Defence industry for forging Business partnerships. The event will help boost investment, expand manufacturing capacities and capabilities, and discover avenues for technology absorption.  (KNN Bureau)
