Delhi Govt develops mobile app for traders; registration under DVAT, CST can be done using app

New Delhi, May 23 (KNN) With the view to provide hassle-free services to the traders, Delhi Government has developed a mobile application DVATMsewa to provide various services to traders including registration of dealers under the DVAT Act, 2004 ad CST Act, 1956.

Traders can register themselves with the department through the mobile app -- DVATMsewa -- giving basic information like name, Aadhaar number, date of birth, mobile number and residential address. The app can be downloaded from Google Play Store.

After providing the basic info, the dealer would have to give some additional information like Business, dealer type, PAN no etc. On submission of the request, the computer system of the Department of Trade and Taxes will verify Aadhaar details from the UID portal and PAN card details with the Income Tax data.

After the verification, the details will be sent to Ward VATO to check the address of business premises and also the location of business premise on map as indicted in google map by the coordinate of the image of business premises uploaded.

After the verification, a reference ID and password would be sent to the registered applicant through e-mail on the same day.

Dealer would then file registration application under DVAT and/ or CST, as the case may be, and deposit fee online. After all the approvals required, the Registration Certificate would be made available in the login of dealer in the same day. Also, signed copy of the RC would be dispatched to the dealer by post.

Meanwhile, responding to this, the Delhi President of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), Ramesh Khanna Ramesh Khanna told KNN that first of all the Delhi Government has to bring transparency in its work.

Showing his disappointment over Bureaucrats, he alleged that they “harass” the traders after any decisions are being taken by the Government.

In India, if a step is taken for one good cause, then others are ready to spoil it, said the Delhi President.

He alleged that the Governments see the traders like thieves. (KNN Bureau)
