New Delhi, May 10 (KNN) With increasing pressure of activists and some political parties to improve governance, the Delhi Government is working on an IT platform to re-engineer the delivery of services to citizens via internet and other such media.

The responsibility for carrying out this job has been given to the Delhi e-Governance Society under the Department of Information Technology of the state government.

The Society has already kicked in the process of appointing consultant for the job.

It is being increasingly felt that corruption can be significantly improved and citizens can be given better services of items like driving licences, ration cards, registrations of properties by e-Governance platform.

The national capital territory government is at present under the direct administration of the Lieutenant Governor after the Aam Aadmi government of Arvind Kejriwal had a short stint of 49 days.

Improvement in governance has been the main plank of the civil society and parties like AAP. (KNN Bureau)
