New Delhi, Dec 5 (KNN)  The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has proposed to adopt net metering and connectivity in respect of rooftop solar photo voltaic (PV) power projects.

Metering arrangement for all grid-connected solar PV power projects will be in accordance with Central Electricity Authority (Installation and Operation of Meters) Regulation 2006, Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (State Grid Code) Regulations 2008 and DERC (Supply Code and Performance Standards) Regulations 2007 acts, said a DERC notice.

Solar energy exported by the Solar PV power project developer will be metered for billing purpose through the meter designed as ‘Solar meter’.

In this context, the commission has invited written suggestions and objections from various entities like public distribution licensees and other stakeholders.

The objective of DERC is to rationalise electricity tariff, transparent policies regarding subsidies, promote efficient and environmentally benign policies and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.  (KNN/ST)
