DGFT allows import of some agri-items freely without state trading enterprises

New Delhi, Oct 1 (KNN) Relaxing the import norms for several agri-items, Commerce Ministry has permitted import of items including meslin, rye, oats, maize (corn), buckwheat, jawar, bajra, ragi and canary seeds freely.

"The import policy for the agricultural items as listed... has been revised from State Trading Enterprises to Free," Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has said in a notification. 

Earlier, imports of these agri-items were allowed through state trading enterprises. (KNN/SD)
