DGFT extends last date for implementation of track and trace system for exports of drug formulations till April 1 next year

New Delhi, July 9 (KNN) The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has once again extended the last date for implementation of track and trace system for exports of drug formulations till April 1 next year.

The decision is applicable for both Small Scale Industries (SSI) and non SSI manufactured drugs.

In a notification, DGFT said “The date for implementation of Track and Trace system for export of drug formulations with respect to maintaining the Parent-Child relationship in packaging levels and its uploading on Central Portal has been extended up to April 1, 2020 for both SSI and non SSI manufactured drugs.”

Under track and trace system, manufacturers or the exporters of drug formulations are required to print the barcode as per GSI Global Standard at different packaging levels to facilitate tracking and tracing of their products.

The manufacturer or exporter shall maintain the data in the parent-child relationship for three levels of packaging i.e. Primary, Secondary and Tertiary packaging and their movement in its supply chain.
