DGFT restricts import of Pet Coke in India for certain industrial purpose only

New Delhi, Aug 20 (KNN) The import of Pet Coke in India has been restricted only for cement, lime kiln, calcium carbide and gasification industries, when used as feed stock or in manufacturing process on Actual User Condition.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has said in a notification, “Import of pet coke for fuel purpose is prohibited.”

However, import of Pet Coke if free for cement, lime kiln, calcium carbide and gasification industries for use as feed stock or in manufacturing process on Actual User Condition.

Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, in consultation with Customs and DGFT, will bring out detailed guidelines on regulating and monitoring the imported petcoke. (KNN Bureau)
