DIPP-World Bank to release national level business reform exercise report on July 10

New Delhi, July 5 (KNN) The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) and World Bank will release the national level business reform exercise' report on July 10, 2018. During the event, achievements and findings of the BRAP 2017 exercise will also be shared along with release of the rankings of States/UTs.

The Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) includes 405 recommendations for reforms on regulatory processes, policies, practices and  procedures spread across 12 reform areas, that is, labour regulation enablers; contract enforcement; registering property; inspection reform enablers; single window system; land availability and allotment; construction permit enablers; environmental registration enablers; obtaining utility permits; paying taxes; access to information and transparency enablers and sector specific reforms spanning the lifecycle of a typical business.

For each State/UT, the scores are aggregated over all the surveys conducted to yield an overall score for the State/UT.

Regulatory environment has been an important focus area of the Government since 2014 aimed at creating a conducive environment for business by streamlining the existing regulations and processes and eliminating unnecessary requirements and procedures, DIPP said in a communication to industry bodies.

India ranked 100th in the World Bank’s Doing Business Report, 2018.

DIPP and the World Bank has invited industry bodies including FISME, the apex body for MSME associations in the country, for sharing the achievements and findings of the BRAP 2017 exercise with release of the rankings of States/UTs.
