DPIIT launches Industrial Park Rating System 2.0

New Delhi, Oct 5 (KNN) Som Prakash, Minister of State, Commerce and Industry launched the "Industrial Park Rating System 2.0" report today.

In his key note, he appreciated the efforts of Asian Development Bank (ADB), and other associations in preparing the Industrial Park Rating System (IPRS) 2.0, which is as an annual rating exercise, whose pilot level exercise was launched in November 2018.

Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) being the nodal department for industrial policy took this step to initiate measures to enhance growth in productivity, and competitiveness of Indian industrial ecosystem.

IPRS 2.0 is aligned with Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and was announced as part of its package by Minister for Finance in May 2020. It aims to update industrial cluster, common infrastructure facilities and their connectivity.

There were 478 parks nominated for the exercise including 24 private parks and 56 SEZs by the States/UTs. The remaining industrial parks were made available for self-assessment on the IPRS 2.0 portal and a total of 1614 industrial parks were assessed by States/ UTs as part of the activity by 30'h June 2021.

DPIIT showed a video on IPRS 2.0 journey. ADB showed a small presentation on the key findings of IPRS 2.0 by ADB.
