E-commerce can take traditional arts & crafts to global markets

New Delhi, Nov 14 (KNN)  Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad has said that e-commerce can truly benefit the common man by providing market access and correct market value for products to a large number of weavers and artisans.

Speaking to the Founder and CEO of Ecommerce Giant Flipkart, Sachin Bansal here yesterday, the Minister said, he hoped that e-commerce can not only create huge employment but also take India’s ethnic and traditional arts and crafts to the global markets, according to an official release.

Congratulating Bansal for his exemplary achievements in the field of e-commerce and his entrepreneurial success, the Minister urged Flipkart to become a vehicle for growth in entrepreneurship and employment in India.

In response, Bansal talked about the initiative ‘Flipkart Kaarigar Ke Dwar’ which is aimed to provide support to weavers for selling their products online using the Flipkart platform.  (KNN/ES)
