New Delhi, March 29 (KNN) In the backdrop of amendments in the Companies Act, the government has decided to temporarily suspend the services of e-filing from April 1-13, 2014, to ensure smooth transition of the revised norms from six decade old Act to the new Act.

“Following coming into force of a large number of provisions of the Companies Act, 2013 and repeal of corresponding provisioning of Companies Act, 1956 from the same date, it has become necessary to temporarily suspend services of e-fillings under MCA-21 from April 1-13, 2014 to ensure a smooth transition to the revised norms,” Ministry of Corporate Affairs today said in a notification.

“Other services will, however, continue to be available,” the notification added.

The Ministry further advised that the professionals, companies and other stake-holders needing to use these services should take into account this temporary suspension.

“It will be advisable to carry out fillings including for incorporation of companies where urgently required up to March 31, 2014,” the Ministry said.

Earlier this week, the government had notified most of the rules Company’s Act 2013 which was passed by parliament last year and provides for measures to protect interest of investors.

As many as 183 more sections of the new Act will become operational from April-1 besides 100 sections which have already been notified. Several important measures are part of the new Act and these include mandatory spending on the corporate social responsibilities by the profit making companies beyond a specific threshold. (KNN/SD)
