EEPC India calls off export award ceremony

New Delhi, Dec 6 (KNN) Apex body for engineering exporters in the country EEPC India today called off its export award function ceremony as a respect to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha.

Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha passed away on December 5 after suffering from a cardiac arrest.

Jayalalithaa’s body was first taken to her Poes Garden residence in the early hours and then brought to the Rajaji Hall.

Amma's, as she was popularly known as, funeral will take place at 4.30 pm at the Dr MGR Memorial site off Marina beach, the state government said in an official communication.

EEPC India said, “Due to sad demise of Ms Jayalalithaa, Hon'ble Chief Mininster of Tamil Nadu, an export award function of EEPC India scheduled for today, the 6th December, 2016 at 6 PM, at Kamani Auditorium, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi, stands cancelled.” (KNN Bureau)
