Centre to propose Made-in-India semiconductor to developing nations

New Delhi, Jan 12 (KNN) The government is considering to hold inter-governmental talks with developing countries to increase the demand of Indian manufactured semiconductor chips globally.

Officials aware of the development told ET that these discussions are expected to be held with countries that don’t have extensive semiconductor manufacturing capacities.

Countries that are currently procuring chips from nations such as China and Taiwan will be reached out to.

The idea is to get industries in those nations to either purchase or give preference to India-made semiconductor chips, they told ET.

It revolves around the government’s aim to secure consumers for India-fabricated semiconductor chips.  (KNN Bureau)
