Foxconn signs deal with Telangana govt to set up electronic manufacturing plant
Hyderabad, Mar 3 (KNN) The maker of iPhone, Foxconn will set up a manufacturing facility in Telangana, the state government revealed on Thursday referring to the signing of agreement at Pragati Bhavan.
Foxconn Chairman, Young Liu called on Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and said the electronics giant will create employment generation potential for over 1,00,000 people with this project.
The 'historic deal' has potential to generate employment to over one lakh people over a period of 10 years, said the release form the CM’s office .
To realise the vision of Bangaru Telangana, the CM said his government is on a mission to transform Telangana for better and has undertaken several marquee projects.
Foxconn's unit will help in generating large scale employment to youth and will help attract more such industries to the state, said the CM.
He emphasized that Telangana considers Taiwan as a natural partner and that the state is glad to be a part of Foxconn's growth story.
Inaugurating a T Works a prototyping facility, Liu along with Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao said his company is looking at sites and is currently evaluating the kind of products to be made in Telangana. (KNN Bureau)
