Robust supply chain essential for growth of Indian electronics industry: ELCINA

Noida, May 3 (KNN) The Electronics Industries Association of India (ELCINA) President Sanjay Agarwal said that a robust supply chain is essential for the growth and success of the electronics industry in India.

Speaking at the recently concluded third Electronics Supply Chain Summit held in Noida, the ELCINA president said that a robust supply chain helps to meet customer demand, reduce costs, and drive innovation in the sector.

“With the launch of the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, India is focusing on building a self-reliant and robust supply chain that can support the growth of the electronics industry. This includes reducing dependence on imports, increasing local manufacturing, and promoting the development of domestic suppliers and vendors. By strengthening the supply chain in the electronics industry, India can become a leading player in the global market and achieve its goal of self-reliance,” he said.

The Electronics Supply Chain Summit aimed to strengthen local sourcing and add value, covering among others mobile/mobile accessories, consumer electronics, CCTV Camera & Security Products, Telecom & Peripherals, Semiconductor Components & Modules and lighting segments of the electronics industry. 

It brought together industry experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss the latest developments, challenges, and opportunities in the electronics manufacturing sector.

Exports of electronic goods from India jumped 50 per cent in 2022-23–from USD 15.66 billion the previous year to USD 23.57 billion. This growth of USD 8.24 Bn accounted for 33 per cent of the total exports growth of USD 25 Bn during the year.  (KNN Bureau)
