Energy expo held for MSMEs

Kolhapur, Oct 11 (KNN)  As many as 30 energy-efficient technology providers showcased their equipment at an exhibition on energy efficient technologies for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) held recently.

The technical exhibition organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Thursday saw the participation of representatives from over 100 MSME units.

The technologies on display were foundry products comprising advanced burners, waste heat recovery systems, boilers, induction heating and melting, heat treatment furnaces, air compressors, automation and control systems and remote monitoring systems.

Kolhapur foundry cluster is one of the five target clusters selected from across the country for the project.

Soon after the exhibition, an exposure visit for representatives from 35 MSME units was also organised to the Dhanprakash Industrial Corporation in Maharashtra’s Sangli district for a demonstration on energy efficient technologies.

Participants saw demonstrations of furnaces, advanced ceramic fibre insulation, ladle preheating systems, advanced high velocity burners, sand driers, sand reclamation system, ceramic running and gating system.

Resource persons at the event were deputy general manager, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Rajiv Kumar, Director, Kolhapur engineering association Shrikant Dudhane, chairman, Institute of Indian Foundrymen (Kolhapur chapter) Surjitsinh Pawar, knowledge management specialist from Bureau of Energy Efficiency Rajeev Wadhwa, and director FICCI M A Patil.

The exhibition supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and World Bank is being jointly executed by SIDBI and BEE.  (KNN/ST)
