Enforcement Directorate to Flipkart's Big Billion Day sale complaints

New Delhi, Oct 14 (KNN) In the backdrop of complaints made by the traders against the ‘Big Billion Day’ sale on Flipkart offering predatory prices on the goods, the Enforcement Directorate has issued notice to the e-commerce giant.
 
According to some media reports, ED is likely to impose a penalty of Rs 1, 000 crore on Flipkart.
 
Recently, while speaking to the media, Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that, "We have received many inputs. Lot of concerns have been expressed. We will look into it."
 
Flipkart's 'Big Billion Day' sale on October 6 had offered massive discounts on various products, raising concerns among small and big traders that such campaigns would badly affect players in the traditional retail market.

Flipkart has said that its 'Big Billion Day' sale saw 1.5 million people shopping at its portal. It also claimed that products worth over Rs 600 crore were sold in just 10 hours under the scheme.
 
Along with the retailers, manufacturers and traders, Flipkart’s ‘Big Billion Day’ sale had left the buyers disappointed. After receiving several complaints on it social network pages Flipkart issued an Apology Letter to its customers the next day. (KNN/SD)
