Entrepreneurs should be nation builders and not just wealth creators: NIDC Advisor

New Delhi, Aug 25 (KNN) Entrepreneurs not only create jobs for themselves but also build opportunity for other people to grow, said Imnatiba, Advisor, Industries & Commerce and Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC).

Speaking at the ‘Nagaland Entrepreneurs’ Meet 2018 organized by YouthNet in collaboration with the department of Industries and Commerce on Friday, Imnatiba said that entrepreneurs should be the nation builders and not just wealth creators.

He said that the ideas of young people and entrepreneurs are the assets of the state and they should contribute to economic growth of the state.

Encouraging young entrepreneurs, the advisor said they should take steps towards new heights with innovative and revolutionary ideas for the economic progress of the new Nagaland.

During the meet a brain storming sessions on successful business models, branding, marketing and financial linkages was also held.

With regard to branding and marketing the Nagaland entrepreneurs recommended the improving skill sets of, and capacity building for, entrepreneurs; value chain of bottling, packaging, pricing and the entire output process of the final product/service and; creating value and push from the government for local brands. 

In access to finance, the meet recommended an Entrepreneurship facilitation cell under Department of Industries; association of business, need to maintain common database to identify and track defaulters; banks need to introduce fast tracking of micro loans, standardization of documents; Ease and reduce time of processing contract, financing loans etc and Start-Up policy for Nagaland.

On market linkage, it recommended improved road connectivity; create a better system to motivate a healthy work culture; better internet connectivity; MoUs with underground factions to not tax new entrepreneurs for the first 3 years; and regular electricity including electrification of more rural areas.

The program was attended by around 300 entrepreneurs from different parts of the state.
