Entries called for eMERG Woman Achiever Awards 2015

Bengaluru, Jan 5 (KNN)  Engineering Manufacturer Entrepreneurs Resource Group (eMERG), a unit run by women entrepreneurs with a focus on training rural unemployed women and youth  in various skills has invited entries to the eMERG Woman Achiever Awards 2015.
 
The awards for various categories such as International woman achiever, woman in services, technology, young at heart, innovative business idea, helping hand, debutante, etc will presented at an international business convention for women titled, ‘Forging Links, Leveraging Networks (FLLN)’ scheduled to be held here from March 4-5, 2015, according to an official release.
 
FLLN will be a convention where women from diverse fields will come together and share their experiences, so as to be part of mainstream business.  Delegates can network and expand business links which will help them take the next step towards growth and success.  During the event, participants can learn about other successful women and deliberate on significant issues.  Further, entrepreneurs can attend interactive, one-on-one round table meetings with potential buyers and corporate; and be a part of a unique buyer-seller meet where they can create an opportunity to showcase their products / services to key government departments, defence majors, PSU's and large corporates.
 
“Women are an essential part of the talent pool in any industry and are a vital link in the economic network and society. However, the role of women in the overall economic ecosystem has often been underplayed and rarely recognized. eMERG takes this chance to salute the spirit of determination that has enabled women across the country to rise above the challenges and achieve in the areas of business, professional service and entrepreneurship,” an official release said inviting progressive women, to join a network of vibrant women business owners, professionals and entrepreneurs in the making.   

The 2 day International Business Convention is suitable for women entrepreneurs, women professionals, CEOs and top executives, academic institution representatives, champions of entrepreneurial spirit in women, etc.
 
The award categories are: International woman achiever (SAARC and Arab countries) - for a woman who owns/works at a business going across borders working towards achieving excellence in either a government/ public/ private/ social enterprise; Woman in services – for a woman who owns/works at business in the services sector either a government/public/private enterprise. The applicant should have exhibited a high level of service orientation and customer satisfaction at business/work place in the services sector.
 
The third category is Woman in technology – for a woman who owns/works with technology and has successfully implemented/promoted products/processes/technology and/or management principles in the running of the business.
 
Young at heart entrepreneur is for a woman over 60years of age, actively running her business till date; and Social sector business woman is for a woman who is using or developing products/ processes/ technology to make a positive and sustainable impact through her organization. The applicant should be able to showcase activities/outcomes for social good.
 
Yet another award is for Innovative business idea - for a woman who has developed or commercialized unique technology products, processes or concepts. The applicant should have demonstrated success in implementing the said product/process/service.
 
The Helping hand award is for a woman who works in any industry undertaking a managerial role. The applicant should have demonstrated success in implementing concepts/methods/activities that positively affect the business; and Debutante is for a woman who is in the beginning stages of her business for 3 or less years. The applicant should have demonstrated successful outcomes in the early stages of the business. (KNN/ES)
