New Delhi, Jul 11 (KNN) Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Labour and Employment, Bandaru Dattatraya on Friday unveiled “Nidhi Aapke Nikat”, a public outreach program of Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) at Delhi (South) Regional Office, Dwarka.

On the occasion, the minister said that in tune with the PM’s vision and mission of Shramev Jayate, it had been the endeavour of the government to provide world class services to the nation’s workforce.

Stressing the need to work on ‘Make in India’, ‘Digital India’ and ‘Skill India’ programmes, he said measures to  ensure transparency and accountability were imperative to usher in a corruption free India.

Referring to customer friendly initiatives taken by EPFO, Dattatraya expressed his hoped that EPFO would become the number one social security organization in the world.

He also said ‘Nidhi Aapke Nikat’ programme would increase stakeholders’ participation, not only by addressing their grievances but also inviting their suggestions and views.

The grievance redressal in EPFO occupies a centre stage in the organization’s activities. In addition to prompt action on complaints, an online facility namely EPFiGMS (Employees’ Provident Fund internet Grievance Monitoring System) has also been made available on EPFO website.

Introduction of customer friendly initiatives and intense monitoring of disposal of grievances, pendency of grievances has witnessed a sharp decline at both, Head Office level and field office level.  At the end of FY 2014-15, only around 2000 grievances were left pending in all the 120 offices of EPFO put together.

Recognizing the changed ground realities, EPFO has introduced Nidhi Aapke Nikat as a public outreach programme to reach out to all its stakeholders including employers. The programme will be presided over by the officer-in charge in every office of EPFO.

Secretary, Labour and Employment, Shankar Aggarwal, said that the ultimate objective should be to provide all public services to the citizen on 24X7 basis harnessing the latest IT tools.

CPFC said KK Jalan said that Nidhi Aapke Nikat besides being an outreach programme was also an occasion to introspect within the organisation and invited members and employers to contribute to the better functioning of the organisation. (KNN Bureau)
