ESIC committed to work towards betterment of workers, 2018 to see new initiatives: Santosh K. Gangwar

New Delhi, Jan 1 (KNN) The Employee’s’ State Insurance Corporation is committed to continue working towards the betterment of the workers, Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment. Santosh Kumar Gangwar said recently at the year-end event in the national capital.

In an attempt to encourage the department, the Minister appreciated the work done by the ESIC officials.

Of the many provisions, ESIC provides social security benefits at times of medical emergency to the workers insured.

ESIC has expanded its coverage to 8.98 factories benefitting more than 3 lakh families across the country. Since 1952, 151 hospitals, 1400+ dispensaries, 179 ISM units, 815 branch and 63 Regional offices had been established, the Minister informed

The act implies to premises where 10 or more persons are employed and Health insurance is provided to employees drawing wages up to Rs. 21,000 per month.

Also during the event, the Minister released the Employee’s’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Calendar, Diary and Telephone Directory

The Minister said that his office is to come up with newer initiatives along the line to reach the workers base in a more efficient manner. (With PIB Inputs) (KNN/MG)
