Exporters can now upload documents for issuance of Advance Authorization and EPCG Authorization
New Delhi, May 16 (KNN) The exporters will now not have to submit the hard copy of applications at the Regional Authorities of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for issuance of Advance Authorization (AA) and EPCG Authorization.
Taking a step towards improving ease of doing business environment, the NIC has now created an ‘upload document’ facility in AA and EPCG ECOM modules. This would remove the time lag between online application and receipt of hard copy in the DGFT Regional Authority.
DGFT said, “With effect from 20th May, 2019, all exporters filing online AA & EPCG applications will, in addition, need to upload supporting documents also…”
“With the use of this facility, exporters will not be required to submit hard copy of the AA/ EPCG application and its related documents to the DGFT RA,” it added.
The RAs would examine and process such ECOM applications based on the information & documents filed online by the exporter and issue AA/ EPCG within the laid down timelines of three working days, said the DGFT. (KNN Bureau)
