Minimum Export Price For Honey Fixed At USD 1,400 Per Tonne Till March 2026: DGFT

New Delhi, Jan 5 (KNN) The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended the Minimum Export Price (MEP) condition for natural honey, fixing the price at USD 1,400 per metric tonne, below which exports will not be permitted.

In a notification dated December 31, 2025, the DGFT revised the export policy condition for honey classified under tariff heading ITC (HS) 04090000, extending the MEP mechanism until March 31, 2026, with immediate effect.

The MEP requirement for natural honey was first introduced in March 2024 as a regulatory measure to address concerns related to quality and pricing in overseas markets.

The threshold was subsequently revised downward from USD 2,000 per metric tonne to USD 1,400 per metric tonne through DGFT Notification No. 27/2025–26 dated August 22, 2025.

That earlier notification was valid until December 31, 2025. The latest extension continues the revised MEP of USD 1,400 per metric tonne for an additional three months.
