Seventh Eastern India Microfinance Summit to be held in Kolkata on Jan 13

Kolkata, Jan 4 (KNN) The seventh edition of the Eastern India Microfinance Summit is being organised by the Association of Microfinance Institutions - West Bengal (AMFI-WB) in Kolkata on January 13, 2023.

The Microfinance summit is being organised in collaboration with PwC, MFIN and Sa-Dhan.

The primary objective of the summit is to help re-evaluate the strategic roadmap necessary for the microfinance industry to build products taking advantage of digital tools and technologies to serve the clients in a client-friendly manner.

This year the theme of the summit is “The Next Gen Microfinance - Role of Digital Technology in the evolving roadmap of microfinance.”

Key issues that will deliberated at the summit would include the need for government to focus on further increasing the funding and liquidity support to the sector, particularly the smaller MFIs; whether RBI should look at differential pricing for digital offerings; need for apex financial institutions like Sidbi and Nabard to enhance equity and loan support to the MFIs particularly smaller MFIs among others.

The Microfinance Summit aims to bring together the national and global community of stakeholders, particularly lenders and Investors, to discuss current and future aspects of financial inclusion, and how digital aspect can be integrated in a client friendly manner.  (KNN Bureau)
