First Biscuit Export from Varanasi to Oman Highlights India-Oman Trade Momentum

New Delhi, Jun 26 (KNN) The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has facilitated the first export shipment of biscuits from Varanasi to Oman following the signing of the India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

The 40-metric-tonne consignment has been exported by Shree Tirupati Balajee Industries Pvt. Ltd., a Varanasi-based manufacturer-exporter. APEDA said the shipment marks a new opportunity for processed food exports from eastern Uttar Pradesh.

The consignment will be transported from Varanasi to the Inland Container Depot (ICD), Kanpur, for customs clearance before being shipped through Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) to Oman.

According to APEDA, the shipment reflects the growing export potential of value-added processed food products from the region. The authority added that additional consignments to Oman are planned in the coming months in response to increasing market demand.
