Nayar was speaking at the first FICCI Young Leaders (FYL) workshop on ‘Young Tech Entrepreneurs (YTE)’.
Spelling out the mantra for success, he said, proposition, people, pricing, perception and possibilities were the 5Ps for creating a high performance organization.
Elaborating on proposition, Nayar said that the product proposed to the customers must offer something which other existing products in the market do not have. This, he explained, becomes the unique selling proposition of the product.
He emphasized that the right mix of people was needed to represent the business and product as they can bring energy and passion to the company and become assets in the long run. The third element, pricing, must be decided intelligently with the help of salespersons, CAs and technical experts, who can provide the required inputs on all the essential aspects.
Emphasising the importance of perception and possibilities, Nayar said that a perception is a reality which is going to happen tomorrow. Hence it is essential to be able to create a positive perception. He added that the art of creating possibilities was in going out of the realms of what was already available to the customers.
He said that high performance teams do things which others consider to be impossible and employees first, customers second is the key to success.
On the other hand, Neeraj Aggarwal from the Boston Consulting Group, spoke about the emerging trends in digital services. He said that the digital metasystem was exploding with technology as a growth driver and changing customer expectations. The market landscape was evolving and new architectures, new business models and new players were making their way into the sector. Digital trends were creating multiple new opportunities. Product innovation and collaboration, organizational agility and an aggressive Go-to-Market approach were the key for success in the space of digital services.
Also speaking on the occasion, MD, ChrysCapital, Sanjay Kukreja said that the unique initiative undertaken by FICCI aims to build a robust platform that encourages ideas exchange and collaboration for young entrepreneurs under the age of 45.
The idea was to share experiences, network and engage with mentors with the objective of increasing the growth trajectory of their businesses. It is a platform to discuss and understand business issues and challenges and provide valuable insights to young entrepreneurs, Kukreja said. (KNN/ES)
