Tirupati, Dec 30 (KNN)  To achieve the national goal for providing access to electricity to all rural households, the Southern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited will soon renovate its systems by setting up solar photo voltaic power plants.

It has proposed electrification and service connections to below poverty line (BPL) households on 100 per cent turnkey and BOMT basis in Prakasam district under Decentralized Distributed Generation (DDG) scheme.

In this context, the company is inviting bids from different corporations for supply, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of solar photo voltaic power plants along with power distribution network.

The DDG scheme was set up by the Ministry of Power to ensure that energy needs of remote village and hamlets are met through scalable, replicable and technologically and financially efficient models. (KNN/ST)
