Foreign Tourist Arrivals grow by 2.3 per cent in Q1 of 2013

New Delhi, Apr 8 (KNN) Foreign Tourists Arrivals (FTAs) in the first three months of 2013 grew by 2.3 per cent over the same period last year while Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) also increased by nearly 21 per cent.

“Foreign Tourists Arrivals from January-March 2013 were 20.27 lakh with a growth of 2.3 per cent, as compared to the FTAs of 19.81 lakh during January-March 2012.  FEEs from tourism in rupee terms during January-March 2013 were Rs 30,075 crore with a growth of 20.5 per cent, as compared to the FEEs of Rs 24,968 crore during January - March 2012,” said an official statement.

FTAs during the month of March 2013 were 6.40 lakh when compared to FTAs of 6.23 lakh in March 2012 and 5.36 lakh in March 2011.

FEEs during the month of March 2013 were Rs. 9,491 crore when compared to Rs 7,843 crore in March 2012 and Rs 5,522 crore in March 2011. (KNN)
