New Delhi, May 19 (KNN) The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has called for suggestions on the draft packaging regulation notified on Wednesday.

The statutory body has proposed a regulation stating products made of recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) may be used for packaging, storing, carrying or dispensing of food products as and when standards and guidelines are notified by the Food Authority.

Such packaging materials shall also comply with any other national standards/regulations as applicable, said FSSAI.

It has stated that any objections or suggestions will be considered which are received within sixty days from the date on which the notification is published are made available to the public.  (KNN Bureau)
