GCCI to celebrate Entrepreneurs Day on Aug 21

New Delhi, Aug 20 (KNN) To give major boost to MSME sector in the state, the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) with the support of the Goa government will celebrate entrepreneurs day on August 21 at Institute Menezes Braganza by organizing a half day MSME event in association with Department of Industries, Goa State Industries Association and Goa Technology Association.

The aim of the event is to highlight “Goa-as the next Entrepreneurial Destination” and create awareness on opportunities available for economic development of the state, said Manguirish Pai Raiker, Chairman ASSOCHAM MSME Council.

Addressing a press conference at GCCI, he said Reserve Bank of India (RBI), State Bank of India (SBI) along with 20 other banks and financial institutions like MSME-Development Institute, SIDBI, EDC, NABARD Ltd would be major facilitators for the event.

He said the event would also help in producing actual figures of employment generated through the massive boost to Goan MSME sector.

All major Banks from the state would be sanctioning loans, educating the prospective entrepreneurs on various financial schemes available, he added.

Around 150-200 prospective entrepreneurs from the state are expected to avail of the opportunity helping Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream come true by strengthening and building sustainable MSME and focusing on "Job Creators rather than Job Seekers", he said.

The event would feature talks on role of academia and banking sector in promoting entrepreneurship, he said, adding on the sidelines of the main event, various Banks, MSME-DI, Department Of Industries, Goa Government, EDC Ltd, would display their relevant schemes and interact with prospective entrepreneurs through specially designated stalls.
