Global conference on electro technology in New Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 19 (KNN)  A global conference on electro technology with participation from 100 countries, is taking place here on Monday and different issues related to the technology will be discussed at the meeting. 
 
Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Prof. K V Thomas will inaugurate the 77th General Assembly of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
 
The event is being jointly hosted by Bureau of Indian Standards, Indian Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (IEEMA), Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) and IEEE Standards Association, ELCOMA and other industries. 
 
During the general assembly various policy making bodies of IEC will deliberate on the issues related to international standards and decide about future strategy and directions for standards development in electro technology, said an official release. 
 
It said the hosting of IEC General Assembly will help India in creating increased awareness about international standards in electro technology and increase the country's participation in standards development process of IEC. (KNN/ST)
