Panipat, March 10 (KNN) A Textile Park would be set up in Haryana at a cost of Rs 181 crore to promote the sector, Textiles Minister Santosh Gangwar said on the concluding day of 'Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit 2016' in Gurgaon. However, the textile industry in the state feels that the government talks much and works less.

Talking to KNN, the President of Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association Sukhbir Singh Malik said that a common centre was proposed here to provide textile machinery in Panipat but files are not moving forward.

“This Government talks much and works less,” he said.

However, he said that if the Park is set up in Haryana, it would be a good move as Panipat is one of the most famous hubs for textile in India.

The Government had come up with clusters schemes but they are not able to take it forward, complained the President.

Malik said that the entrepreneurs help each other set up the businesses rather than getting any help from the government.

A Rs 14-crore Incubation Centre will also be set up to provide skill development to youths in the sector, Gangwar said at a session titled 'Haryana as Hub of Textiles, Apparel, Accessories and Leatherwear: Marking a Mark in the Global Landscape'. (KNN Bureau)
