New Delhi, Nov 26 (KNN)  The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved a proposal of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for continuation of the Agriculture Export Promotion Plan Scheme of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) in the 12th Plan period for 2012-17.

The Rs 1,100 crore APEDA scheme has four components including infrastructure development, transport assistance, market development and quality development, an official statement said yesterday.

The objective of the scheme is to enhance the capability of the Indian exporters of agro products and support them in realizing their export potential.

The components would help in catalysing the efforts of the exporting community through need based interventions by APEDA at different stages of the supply chain.  (KNN/ST)
